What began as a joke turned into an all-out sign war in the not-so-dull town of Christianburg, Virginia.
Bored Panda shared the cute story, which started when an employee of Ed Bridge, owner of the music store Bridge Kaldo in Christianburg, Virginia, suggested a sign war. Bored much? But he liked the idea, and so he proposed a sign war with neighboring shoe store Super Shoes.
… And they responded
Then they dragged a 3rd store, Kabuku Japanese Steakhouse into it.
So Kabuki shot back:
Of course, Bridge Kaldo had to respond:
C'mon, ribbing on someone's music choice? Really?
And on it went, and so on and so forth, and it is still going until the end of time.
There is even a Facebook group dedicated to the sign war.
People are joining in on the fun from cities all around the U.S., and even the world!
Then the giants joined in:
Burger King:
DQ:
Even Wendy's couldn't resist:
People are responding with their own signs, and those keeping up with the fun are relishing their daily dose, getting in some good laughs, and just generally enjoying the shenanigans of it all. Who knew this little town in VA had such a huge sense of humor?
Lastly, the Bar Joke:
Demands for t-shirts, magnets, bumper stickers, and decals are rising. It has also boosted interest in the town and will probably create tourism for years to come. The sign war is on fire!
