NorthStar Signs on Long Island won a contract to fabricate all 32 of Teachers Federal Credit Union's new signs during their rebranding.

TFCU Sign Installation

Northstar Signs & Neon, Inc, recently won a contract to fabricate all the signs for the rebranding of TFCU- Teachers Federal Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in the United States.

TFCU has locations throughout Long Island, Queens, and Manhattan and just rolled out their new logo design along with their 32nd branch, with all locations needing new signs. Northstar Signs will fabricate them all.

The most recent installation was a new 183 square feet sign at TFCU’s headquarters at 102 Motor Parkway in Hauppauge, NY in September 2020.

Fabrication

The sign face was fabricated using channel coil and an Accu-Bend channel letter bender.

All TFCU's logos are digitally printed on vinyl backed by either acrylic or Lexon polycarbonate sheets used for the sign back. All signs are front and back lit with Greenleaf LED Primos.

Lighting

The sign is internally illuminated with LED custom channel letters mounted through the building façade with rods and bolted from the back.

Greenleaf LED Primo modules were used for the signs, as a long-lasting low voltage lighting solution.

Sold exclusively at S&F Supplies, Greenleaf LED Primo is a constant current, low voltage energy efficient LED.

Primo modules contain a unique cable containment feature for tighter installations.

Sign fabricators can use fewer modules that fully stretch to 1.5 modules/foot, for a far-reaching glow and a uniform, even light distribution.

Conquering the Sign Industry

By 1985, Al Puig, founder of Northstar Signs & Neon, Inc had experience in graphic arts, Offset Printing, and Screen Printing, when he set out to conquer the sign industry.

Today, North Star Signs is the product of 40 years of hard work and impeccable service. They handle everything from project management to design, engineering, permitting, fabrication, and sign installation.

Their customers keep returning because they recognize expertise and diligence, creativity and quality. And impeccable service.

And with thousands of local, regional, and national projects in their portfolio, we would call that conquered.

Building Bridges

Northstar Sign's relationship with S&F Supplies goes way back. Al Puig still remembers when S & F were Sandel and Fleischman selling sign supplies out of their station wagon.

One day, Al traveled from his shop on Long Island to buy supplies in Brooklyn, and was at a sign shop when a station wagon pulled up. And the next thing you know- “I was buying from S&F, and you guys were shipping stuff out to the Island.”

That was 35 years ago. And he’s been doing business with S&F ever since.

But that’s not all to Al’s relationship with S&F. “When I started to grow the business,” Al recalls, “We got involved in a project together with S&F, and when I asked [S&F] to give me a hand, they extended a decent credit line that let me build the business.”

It's a gamble that has paid off, in more ways than one.

Building strong relationships with our customers and watching them grow- that's everything a business can ask for.
