As we enter into the new year, here are our predictions on what’s to come. Stay tuned to our news blog as we closely monitor the markets.

  • Sign makers will double their sales in commercial signage.

Sadly, we have had to say goodbye to many retail stores during this pandemic, both big and small. But as bleak as things may look right now, the economy is not dead. This year we'll see a huge boom in new signs and awnings for hopeful new businesses taking their first steps. You’ll have what they need from store signs, awnings, and “Grand Opening” signs to all the soft signage used indoors. Be prepared.

  • Curbside dining will trigger a gold rush of opportunity.

Curbside dining is not going away; in fact, it is only just getting started. To bring the people what they want, we have everything your customers will need to comply with NYC’s strict regulations. Temporary enclosures are now being built to last. Sign and Awning makers, this is your time to step in and take the lead guiding the restaurants on the right way to build these structures. Fabric, substrates, aluminum, or steel? What materials to use for the walls, roof, windows, lighting? How best to make the outdoor space look like an intimate, upscale dining experience? What digital wrap design or pattern will attract a hungry passerby? Look out for our handy Curbside Appeal guide, which will give you all the information you need to know.

  • Large format printing will make it huge in retail.

As businesses and retail shops begin opening back up, (and they will), they’ll need large bright ways to attract customers. Large format printers- let them know they can come to you. Decals on the floor that says, ‘right this way’, window display signs, enhanced lightbox designs, “We’re Open!” banners, and window vinyl. We’ll supply you with all that and more.

  • Vehicle wraps and car magnets will continue to surge due to the increase in deliveries.

There’s a new way to shop. It’s not just Amazon and online retailers that are in the delivery business anymore. As more people want their items ‘now’ and businesses rush to deliver, anyone with a smartphone and a car can do deliveries, as long as they distinguish themselves to represent the company they are working for. Car and van wraps are on the rise and so are magnets for private vehicles. Be the wrap star your customers need.

Other areas to keep your eyes on:

  • Antimicrobial surfaces

Warding off bacteria is super “en vogue” right now. Soon, not only will it be a mere convenience, it may become a government regulation. Stay up to date on the latest surface protection:

Amgard from Plaskolite, a clear acrylic and polycarbonate sheet infused with silver ion that works as an antimicrobial and has been proven to kill microorganisms or stop their growth. Used for display cases, tabletops, covers for door handles, sneezeguards, and other uses, this will assure your customers that their surfaces will remain bacteria-free.

QHF has also introduced an additive for its mixed paint that can be applied to any painted surfaces such as tabletops, wooden benches, or even banisters. Think about what you can cover with a clear paint or any other color on any surface.

  • The Real Estate Market

The eviction freeze won’t last forever, and eventually, something will break. No matter the outcome of the housing crisis, keeping tabs on this market and staying in touch with your real estate customers is probably a good idea.

  • Events spaces

Although many shows and events went virtual, nothing can replace the need for face to face events. It is only a matter of time before the vaccine takes effect and someone comes up with a safe solution for in-person trade shows. When it does, trade shows will reopen and they will be back with a vengeance. These events will need major digital media and indoor temporary signage.

Stay trendy.
