Indoor activities and institutions are opening in New York.

On Friday Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the state will start allowing “low-risk cultural activities.” This will include museums, aquariums, and other cultural attractions.

You won’t see any of these cultural institutions start to reopen until August 24 in order to give these establishments time to initiate safety protocols. These protocols include:

  • 25% capacity at all times
  • Timed ticketing with staggered entry to enforce the 25% capacity rule
  • Face coverings must be worn at all times
  • Social distancing
  • Controlled traffic flow to avoid crowding
  • Enhanced cleaning and disinfection
Bowling alleys starting to enforce safety protocols

In addition, bowling alleys are set to open reopen as soon as today. They will be allowed to operate at a 50% capacity limit with strict safety protocols. Some of these protocols include:

  • Face covering at all times
  • Social distancing
  • Alternating lanes must be closed
  • Customers must stay within their lane
  • Cleaning and disinfection of shared and rented equipment between each use
  • Food services must follow state-issued guidelines

For bowling alleys in NYC, that means no indoor food services due to the restriction of indoor dining.

This is a great time to reach out to your local bowling alleys and museums, etc., and offer to fill their signage and acrylic needs.
